Mentor Campers bridge the gap between camper and adult leader.

The Mentor Camper program gives older youth a way to return to Crossways with a new role. Mentors are not adult staff, but they are more than participants. They help set the tone for younger campers, assist in small groups, and practice leadership alongside experienced adults.
The standing model is for Mentor Campers who are currently in 10th grade or older, have attended Crossways at least once as a camper, and are willing to complete pre-camp training.
Mentor Camper positions are limited and require approval before registration. Crossways only needs as many Mentor Campers as there are small groups, so the number of available positions changes from year to year. Interested youth should apply or express interest first; Raylee Brown and the CCC staff will review the pool and approve Mentor Campers for the year. Please do not register as a Mentor Camper unless you have been approved.

Mentors are paired with adult leaders and help younger campers participate in conversation and activities.
Pre-camp training and real responsibilities help mentors practice leadership in a supported environment.
CCC continues its standing 50% Mentor Camper fee subsidy. The exact 2027 dollar amount will appear only after the participant fee is finalized.
Start with the application/approval process rather than the general camp registration form. Your congregational leader can help connect you with Raylee Brown and the CCC team. Once you are approved, CCC will tell you how to complete registration.
